To Academician Professor Sheng Chang Wen's family,

The members of SARCCM were deeply shocked and saddened to hear that the Academician Professor Sheng Chang Wen passed away on the 20th of March, 2022. We would like to express our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to his relatives and friends.

Professor Sheng Chang Wen was a pioneer of China's ocean wave research and a respected educator in China's marine science field. He devoted his entire life to the study of physical oceanography and produced countless students. His devotion and dedication to science, as well as his altruistic service to the community, is truly not only a model for us, but also our future generations. With the passing of Professor Wen, the field of marine science has lost a grandmaster. We shall inherit Professor Wen's will and strive to advance China's marine science!
