Some of the SARCCM research students (5) and Visiting Fellows (2) visited the Department of Environment and Australian Parliament on 11 February 2015.  Dr Ke-Liang Chen (pictured), Third Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, PRC was able to see the building and process of Parliament’s committees and Question Time.  Dr Chen’s research work is in the field of environmental management and the calculation of the impacts of development in coastal and marine environments.  This is very important as China seeks to provide eco-compensation measures to protect its rapidly developing marine assets.
