Invited by Rector Professor John Baird, President of OUC (Ocean University of China), Professor Dexing Wu, led a delegation to visit UNSW from 16-19 November 2010 to launch UNSW Sino-Australian Research Consortium for Coastal Management (SARCCM) and chair an inaugural scientific steering committee meeting on 17 November at UNSW at ADFA; to seek a broader collaboration between UNSW and OUC; and to initiate and develop a link between NSW and Shandong Province, China on marine science/technology and marine based economic development, particularly on the newly established government initiative to develop Shandong Peninsula Blue (Marine) Economics Zone.
