A new National Industry PhD project in Oceanography (Yaocheng Deng), School of Science, has been successfully funded in Round 6 of the Australian Government’s National Industry PhD Program. Our project, “Study on Sediment Dynamics in Batemans Bay based on modelling and observations”, is an industry-linked PhD in Oceanography in partnership with Eurobodalla Shire Council. We will combine field observations, real-time water-quality monitoring and advanced coastal modelling to understand sediment transport and dredging impacts in Batemans Bay, New South Wales, helping the Council plan environmentally responsible dredging operations and long-term coastal resilience for the Clyde River estuary.
