Dr Yuan Yuan joined SARCCM, School of Science at UNSW Canberra as a postdoctoral fellow

Dr. Yuan Yuan has joined the School of Science and the Sino-Australian Research Consortium for Coastal Management (SARCCM) at UNSW Canberra as a postdoctoral fellow in November 2024. With a specialization in Physical Oceanography, her research focuses on coastal hydrodynamics and the impact of human interventions. Dr. Yuan completed her PhD in Oceanography at UNSW Canberra and later served as a lecturer at Hainan University, China. She has also contributed to the scientific community by translating the book Waters of the World: The Story of the Scientists Who Unraveled the Mysteries of Our Oceans, Atmosphere, and Ice Sheets and Made the Planet Whole from English to Mandarin. In her current role, Dr. Yuan will be working on the project Sediment Transport Analysis for Planned Dredging and Beach Nourishment in Batemans Bay. This research aims to provide insights into coastal management and sustainable development. As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Yuan is set to contribute her expertise to SARCCM and the School of Science, further advancing research in coastal management and oceanographic studies.
